    Orange County Plastic Surgeon Provides Interactive Educational Patient Experience

    More than half of all Americans now approve of cosmetic enhancement, according to the latest study from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS). To further support this growing acceptance and enhance patient education at his Orange County plastic surgery practice, Dr. Dan Mills is adopting an interactive platform designed to improve communication with his patients. He adds that regardless of whether their enhancement goals include a surgical procedure such as breast augmentation, or nonsurgical treatment such as BOTOX® injections, he expects the new system will improve overall patient care.

    A majority of Americans now approve of cosmetic enhancement, according to the latest statistics from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS). Dr. Dan Mills, a board-certified plastic surgeon in Orange County and Board of Directors member for ASAPS, says he believes improved patient education and communication is essential to the continued acceptance of aesthetic procedures. He adds that this dedication to his patients is why he is implementing an interactive platform designed to streamline communication and improve patient education as they formulate their cosmetic enhancement goals and expectations.

    Whether his patients are considering a tummy tuck, liposuction, or breast augmentation in Orange County, Dr. Mills says the interactive technology not only improves a patient’s experience during the in-office consultation, but also allows patients to access their diagnosis and potential outcome through the internet. “Touch MD is a wonderful advancement for my patients to follow along with their results. They can get into their own portal so they can follow along with their recovery, see their before and after photos, and watch educational videos to learn more about the procedures we offer.     With more than 9.3 million cosmetic procedures performed in 2010 according to the ASAPS study, Dr. Mills says concentrating on the individual patient’s understanding of the procedure they are considering can greatly influence the continued approval of cosmetic enhancement in general. “Knowledge promotes self-empowerment.     Dr. Dan Mills earned his medical degree at Loma Linda University School of Medicine. He then completed his general surgery training at Wright University, and his plastic surgery residency at the Medical College of Ohio. Dr. Mills is an active member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the American College of Surgeons, and the California Society of Plastic Surgeons. He also partners with Amigos de los Ninos and Operation Good Samaritan to provide plastic and reconstructive surgery for impoverished children with congenital or acquired deformities.
