PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — If you own a motor vehicle, then you already know this story. The price of gasoline continues to climb.
Marie Dodds, spokeswoman for AAA Oregon/Idaho, says the national average for a gallon of regular unleaded climbed one-and-a-half cents this week to $3.72 while Oregon's average price leaped almost a dime to $3.98.
A fire at the Chevron refinery in Richmond, Calif., two weeks ago sent West Coast prices surging. Dodds says more expensive crude oil prices are also putting upward pressure on pump prices.
