The construction of Crowne Plaza Changi Airport (CPCA) hotel extension has just passed the critical halfway mark. According to OUE they have started installing rooms on the 6th floor of the 10-storey hotel extension.

Crowne Plaza is the first private sector project where the entire development is being built using the prefabricated pre-finished volumetric construction (PPVC) method. This means all rooms with finishes, fixtures and fittings are prefabricated in China before shipping to Singapore for final assembly. When completed in June this year, the extension will add 243 rooms to the existing 320-room hotel building.

The hotel including the extension were acquired from OUE through its subsidiary, OUE Hospitality Trust for $495 million in 2014. The acquisition will only be completed after the extension has obtained its temporary occupation permit.
