Over 50% of iOS users have fled to 7.0.6 after security breach
In one of the quickest transitions yet, over 50% of iOS device users have already committed to iOS 7.0.6 after reports began spreading that previous updates could be vulnerable to a security breach. According to Onswipe’s recent report based on mobile traffic from iOS devices, the adoption rate hit 50.06% on March 3rd, less than two weeks after the update originally became available. Although the threat of private information being hacked likely lit a fire under some iPhone and iPad owners, Apple has made updating easy to understand and nearly instantaneous over the past several years, meaning that most users with devices that can update will update. On the other side of the aisle, Google is still trying to figure out how corral its endless cavalcade of Android devices under a single OS banner. The chart from Onswipe can be seen below.
