    PA State Museum's Popular Artists Conversations Series Features iPhone Photo Journal Artist Kevyn Bashore

    HARRISBURG, Pa., Feb. 6, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The State Museum will host another edition of its popular Artists Conversations series from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 15.

    Susquehanna Art Museum exhibits manager Amy Hammond and artist/photographer Kevyn Bashore will discuss Bashore's 365 day iPhone photography journal project. The project is featured in the exhibit "Where There is Light," on display through Feb. 17.

    This free program is being held in conjunction with 3rd in the Burg, a partnership of galleries and businesses celebrating local artists and their work on the third Friday of each month. A reception immediately following the Artists Conversations tour will be hosted by the Friends of the State Museum.

    Bashore of Hummelstown is the owner of Eaglestone Mountain LLC, a media production company. As a writer/producer/director, he has won awards for his work in photography, songwriting and media work. He holds degrees from Harrisburg Area Community College and Temple University as well as a master's degree from Regent University, and has also studied philosophy, theology, and screenwriting in London, England. 

    Hammond is a graduate of Juniata College in Huntingdon and holds a master's degree in art history from the American University in Washington, DC. Before leading the exhibitions program at the Susquehanna Art Museum, she interned at the Smithsonian Institution's Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden.

    The State Museum of Pennsylvania, adjacent to the State Capitol in Harrisburg, is one of 25 historic sites and museums administered by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission as part of the Pennsylvania Trails of History®.
