Pac-Man Franchise Launches Campaign to Fight Breast Cancer

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and video game publisher Bandai Namco is getting involved. It has teamed up with the National Breast Cancer Foundation to launch a "Ms. Pac-Man Pink Ribbon Campaign" to help in the fight against breast cancer.

As part of the campaign, Bandai Namco has launched a new maze (at left) for various Ms. Pac-Man and Pac-Man iOS and Android games (full list below). Through October, you can buy the $1 map, and all proceeds will go directly to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

In addition, the artwork and user-interfaces for the games have changed, and now feature a pink ribbon theme for the month of October.

"While video games often bring amusement and joy to our lives, this is a chance to bring hope as well," senior producer Ben Acevedo said in a statement. "Breast cancer has directly affected my immediate family and it's a fantastic opportunity for gamers and the industry to get involved."

National Breast Cancer Foundation founder and CEO Janelle Hail said she is excited to partner with Bandai Namco for this special month-long campaign. She says an iconic brand like Pac-Man getting involved will elevate the profile of the campaign overall.

The Ms. Pac-Man Pink Ribbon Campaign runs through October 31. Participating games are listed below.

  • Pac-Man Lite / Ms. Pac-Man Lite
