  • American Red Cross Safe and Well List - If you've been affected by the disaster, register yourself as 'safe and well.'. Concerned family and friends can search the list online and learn your status.
  • FEMA Family Registry and Locator System: 1-800-588-9822 - Available free of charge for those have been separated from friends and family by the fires in Southern California.
  • FEMA: California Wildfires - Learn about what the federal government is doing, and what kind of recovery assistance is available.
  • California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection - Updates on fire conditions, useful phone numbers, disaster assistance information and more.

  • KPBS Radio and TV - Fire updates via the Web or your mobile phone, streaming news, and more.

DONATE OR VOLUNTEER

Help organizations issue assistance to Southern California wildfire victims by donating cash, time, goods or services.

  • American Red Cross - The Disaster Relief Fund enables the American Red Cross provide shelter, food, counseling and other assistance to victims of disaster.
  • To offer non-cash donations such as blankets or food, call 1-800-750-2858, a special hotline set up by the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services.
  • Freecycle Network - Donate household goods and other items to wildfire victims via this grassroots movement of people who recycle by giving to others.
  • California Volunteers - Search for ways to volunteer.
  • Volunteer San Diego - Support the Disaster Program to help this organization meet volunteers' needs.
  • San Diego Humane Society and SPCA - Help to rescue and evacuate pets and other animals.
  • San Diego Community Foundation After-the-Fires Fund - Provides food, shelter, and health care to first responders and fire victims.
  • San Diego Zoo - Help restore the Wild Animal Park habitats affected by the fires by donating to the Zoological Society of San Diego.
