Panathinaikos beats PAOK 2-1

ATHENS, Greece (AP) — Nano scored one goal and made another to help Panathinaikos beat PAOK 2-1 in the Greek league on Sunday.

Nano provide the assist for Costas Triantafylopoulos to open the scoring early in the second half and then made it 2-0. PAOK played with 10 men for the last 33 minutes after a red card for Costas Katsouranis — but still managed a consolation goal through Klaus Athanassiadis in stoppage time.

Defeat for second-place PAOK left it 17 points behind leader Olympiakos, a 5-0 winner at Veria on Saturday.

Panathinaikos reclaimed fourth place from Asteras, to whom it had lost mid-week, when Asteras lost 3-1 Sunday at Atromitos — despite the latter being a man down after 16 minutes.

Kalloni beat Levadiakos 1-0 and Giannena defeated Panetolikos by the same score.
