PAOK beats Olympiakos 2-1

ATHENS, Greece (AP) — Giorgos Tzavellas scored the winning goal and created the other as PAOK secured a 2-1 victory over defending champion Olympiakos in the Greek league Sunday.

Olympiakos, which had stayed undefeated for a record 26 games, has suffered its second consecutive loss but is still ahead 16 points of both PAOK and Atromitos, 4-0 winner over Panionios, with six rounds remaining.

Andreas Samaris put Olympiakos ahead in the 33rd with a blistering 25-meter (yard) shot, but Klaus Athanassiadis equalized with a shot inside the area three minutes later, after Costas Manolas failed to clear Tzavellas' header.

In the 84th, Olympiakos' Gaetan Bong half-cleared a long lob and Tzavellas scored with a shot from just outside the area.

Elsewhere, Apollon beat Platanias 3-1, Levadiakos defeated Panetolikos 2-1 and Panthrakikos beat Ergotelis 2-1.
