After releasing three short trailer teasers for Paranormal Activity 4 this week, Paramount Pictures let loose the horror movie's first full trailer Wednesday. And trust me, it's scary -- creepy kid included.

The Paranormal Activity film series tells the story of a family's encounters with a demon through the lenses of handheld cameras and security cameras.

Based on the new trailer, the latest installment appears to throw video chat footage into the mix.

The films, which have grossed $576 million at the box office, have routinely leveraged social media as a marketing vehicle. In 2009, Paramount used web service Eventful to challenge people to spark enough buzz for a nationwide release of the first Paranormal Activity.

Last year for Paranormal Activity 3, Paramount set up a viral site -- Darren's Timeless Memories -- that showcased home video-style clips of a family. The site eventually lead users to a teaser trailer.

For Paranormal Activity 4, Paramount is promoting the flick through social media with a "Want It" Facebook app, which connects to your profile to cast a vote for the city you live in.

Twenty-five cities with the most votes win early screenings of the movie. People in 2,040 cities have cast votes.

Paranormal Activity 4 is scheduled to premiere Oct. 19. The official trailer is available at ParanormalMovie.com.
