    Businesses in the UK have been urged to make the most of the available opportunities abroad by exporting their goods to new territories. Parcel2Go, Britain's largest online parcel delivery specialist, says companies should look to countries such as Australia and New Zealand for growth.

    A tough trading environment combined with the current strength of sterling is causing problems for firms used to doing business with customers in the eurozone. However, innovative businesses have realised that consumers in some Pacific countries, who have high levels of disposable income and can benefit from favourable exchange rates, are more than happy to do business with British traders.

    Parcel2Go's marketing director Richard Mercer said businesses are increasingly finding that thanks to the internet, doing business with customers who are on the other side of the globe is no longer out of reach for even the smallest firms.

    Richard said: "One of the main perceived obstacles to trading with Australia and other major countries in the Pacific region is the distances involved. Companies, especially small business, that are not used to exporting their goods are understandably put off by the idea of dealing with customers many thousands of miles away.

    "This is where the services of an international courier company come into play, linking businesses in the UK with customers on the other side of the world. World-renowned courier companies with low postal rates make the process of shipping abroad simple, and we'd urge firms of all sizes to seize the opportunities available overseas and start doing business with the world."
