Paul McCartney announces new tour dates

Paul McCartney has announced the first round of dates for his upcoming One on One Tour, which will kick off April 15 in Fresno, California.

This marks McCartney’s first time touring since his Out There tour, that spanned from May 2013 to October 2015. Although he hasn’t released new solo music since then, he recently collaborated with Kanye West on 2014’s “Only One,” and with the rapper and Rihanna on 2015’s “FourFiveSeconds.”

The news comes just a day after Beatles producer George Martin — often referred to as the “fifth Beatle” — died at the age of 90. McCartney paid tribute to Martin in a post on his website, where he called Martin a “second father.”

“He guided the career of The Beatles with such skill and good humor that he became a true friend to me and my family,” McCartney said. “If anyone earned the title of the fifth Beatle it was George. From the day that he gave The Beatles our first recording contract, to the last time I saw him, he was the most generous, intelligent, and musical person I’ve ever had the pleasure to know.”
