Paul McCartney Is Off The Market (Again)

Former Beatle Paul McCartney married his companion, Nancy Shevell, in London on Sunday, drawing a crowd of fans and photographers to the streets outside the Marylebone Town Hall. McCartney married his first wife, Linda, at the same town hall. She died in 1998, of breast cancer.

McCartney's second marriage, to the former model Heather Mills, ended in an acrimonious divorce.

Shevell is, of all things, a trucking company executive and the ex-wife of a failed Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate in New York, CNN reports. (You know who could write a funny song about such a character? Paul McCartney.) Shevell is also a member of the board of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, the transit agency for greater New York City.

McCartney's rivalry with his late songwriting partner, bandmate, and fellow combatant will symbolically continue. While the revelers celebrate the marriage, Sunday would also have been John Lennon's 71st birthday.
