Sir Paul McCartney took to the stage to close the 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremonies in London on Friday, and the music legend couldn't help but Tweet about the amazing experience.
"Thanks for the great response guys! Tonight was terrific, great, really cool," the 70-year-old singer Tweeted late Friday night.

Sir Paul, who opened with "The End," before launching into a rousing sing-along version of his famous hit, "Hey Jude" at the piano, revealed the performance was tentatively scheduled to be lip-synced.
"There was some talk of maybe being to playback but we decided against it and went live, live, live!" he wrote. "It was a trip and very exciting. It was a great opening ceremony!"

The singer also had a laugh about the (stunt double) Queen's high-flying entrance, Tweeting, "Didn't realise Her Majesty was such a good parachutist!"
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Sir Paul was one of many stars who took part in Friday night's opening ceremonies.
Also on hand for the big event were Daniel Craig (as James Bond), Rowan Atkinson (Mr. Bean) and of course, Britain's Queen Elizabeth II - complete with her royal corgis.
