    PcPools Confirms Sales Increase of Nearly 20% for Above Ground Pools

    St. Paul, Minnesota (PRWEB) February 22, 2012

The above ground pool industry has experienced a marginal growth rate for several years, but the uptick in 2011 – as compared to 2010 – suggests a promising near future may be upon us.

    Marketing Director Ted Robinson had this to say: “Demand in the above ground swimming pool market is clearly on the upswing. With gas prices headed for another rise, more homeowners realize that having a pool in their backyard is a better option than frequent drives to local pools and lakes or trips to a family cabin on the weekend. Rather than spending thousands of dollars taking expensive short trips or hundreds of thousands on a vacation home, more and more families are bringing the 'staycation' to their backyard. We also believe the cost savings of an above ground pool compared to an in ground pool is helping to drive the uptick in demand. Surprisingly, the cost of an above ground pool is about the same – or even slightly less – than a one week vacation for a family of four.”

    An above ground pool is a great way to provide family fun at an affordable price, and PcPools is pleased that its sales in 2011 demonstrated an increased awareness of that fact. Given the rise in quality of the available above ground pools, continued high gasoline prices, and the rise in vacation home prices, Robinson expects the “staycation” trend to continue to manifest itself in the form of increased sales of above ground pools for the next several years.
