Mediation is the core of a twenty-first-century approach to international negotiation. “We have the science, the communication tools, and the knowledge to create sustainable peace solutions. Today’s leaders must add an entirely new set of skills and knowledge to their repertoire when negotiating peace. The timing is critical, as the need for mediation in the Arab world has never been greater,” Noll says, who has spent years researching the science of bringing conflicted groups together.
