Peach State celebrates namesake crop with giant cobbler, week of events

FORT VALLEY, Ga. - The Peach State will celebrate its favourite crop with the Georgia Peach Festival over the next week.

The festival has events in Byron and Fort Valley, both in Peach County. In Byron, Peaches in the Park on Saturday will feature peach salsa, peach bread and peach pie.

Later in the day, North Peach Park will have live music and fireworks.

On June 9, Fort Valley will serve a giant peach cobbler to festival-goers. Dubbed the "world's largest peach cobbler," the dessert is the headliner for a day's worth of activities near the courthouse.
