Danny Esposito, co-editor for financial newsletter and web site Penny Stock Detectives, believes that we could see peak oil in the near future. According to Esposito, nations understand the fact of peak oil (the end of the line for oil extraction) and are pushing forward with investments in green energy, which is why investment in the area was up 30% in 2011 and is ready to move even higher in 2012.
New York, NY (PRWEB) February 23, 2012
In his Penny Stock Detectives article published on February 15, 2012 (see Big Investments in Green Energy Mean Big Profits), Esposito goes on to explain: “The major green energy investments are solar power, wind energy, and biomass. In 2011, a record $211 billion was invested in the green energy sector worldwide, which is a 30% increase from the 2010 level. Wind energy projects attracted the most investment with roughly $9.05 billion, with solar a close second at roughly $86.0 billion, and biomass at $11.0 billion. This record investment in green energy at a time when the world economy is in turmoil shows how critical it is for countries to find alternative solutions to the coming peak oil.”
China, the U.S., and Germany are countries that are leading the way in green energy. These countries are increasing the number of research and development facilities, while building out massive projects in order to secure green energy for the future.
Esposito noted that, with solar power, the U.S. and Germany are struggling to produce efficient systems at low cost, which is placing a strain on investment in this green energy within these countries. According to the editor, studies are showing that wind turbines and biomass could produce more energy than solar, and are cheaper alternatives. It’s possible that both these countries might focus more on these areas and less on solar energy; a development that Penny Stock Detectives will follow closely.
Esposito concludes: “There is no question that peak oil is driving countries to invest in green energy. Green energy investments will just continue to rise in spite of what the economy is doing. If you want a recession-proof investment that is critical to our future, the green energy space is one to consider seriously.”
