Pelosi Supports Occupy Wall Street Movement

House Democratic Leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said she supports the growing nationwide Occupy Wall Street movement, which began on the streets of downtown New York City in mid-September.

"I support the message to the establishment, whether it's Wall Street or the political establishment and the rest, that change has to happen," said Pelosi in an exclusive interview with ABC News "This Week" anchor Christiane Amanpour. "We cannot continue in a way this is not relevant to their lives."

Pelosi sees the protestors' anger stemming from unemployment, which remains above 9 percent.

Pelosi added that the failure of TARP, commonly known as the bank bailout, to add liquidity to the Main Street marketplace is fueling Americans' animosity towards Wall Street.

"The thought was that when we did that [pass TARP], there would be capital available and Main Street would benefit from the resources that went largely to Wall Street," said Pelosi. "That didn't happen. People are angry."

President Obama is hoping to remedy the struggling economy with his proposed $447 billion American Jobs Bill, which is a combination of tax breaks and spending on infrastructure. Obama has touted the bill as the country's insurance policy against a double-dip recession.

"We've needed jobs for awhile," Pelosi added. "What he [the president] is proposing is job creating. And it's really important for him to explain what this is about, or at least keep saying it over and over."

The proposed American Jobs Bill is still awaiting a vote on the Senate floor on Tuesday. Pelosi said she thinks that the bill will get the majority of Senate Democrats' support. But with a few Democrats still on the fence and significant Republican opposition, it's anticipated that the bill will not pass.

"Whether one or two members, Democrats, vote for it or not, we'll see," said Pelosi. "But they have to be allowed to bring the bill up. And the obstruction is not from the Democrats, it's from the Republicans."

The gridlock on Capitol Hill has the vast majority of Americans dissatisfied with Congress. Only 14 percent of Americans approve of Congress' performance, according to the latest Washington Post/ABC news poll released last Wednesday.

Pelosi said she includes herself in the group of Americans dissatisfied with Congress.

"Count me among those ... who object to the way Congress is conducting itself," said Pelosi. "We have a responsibility to try to find common ground."

At times, such common ground can seem to be a long shot. Last Wednesday, Republican Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va., called the Occupy Wall Street protest a "growing mob."

Pelosi lashed back at Cantor, saying that American democracy allows for public expression.

"How they characterize someone who may disagree with them, that says more about them," said Pelosi.

"If proof was ever needed that knowledge is not dispersed evenly to all, Nancy Zero is the poster child for proof." Putting this on here is a waste of bandwidth.

When you don't have your own movement you piggy back on another one and twist it to make it your own.

Leader of Iran gives his support today.
Obama/Pelosi/.Reid/Dem's seem to be loving these druggies using and selling drugs and their stinking bowel movements all over our police officers cars and in our public parks.
More of them on news to-nite saying do away with capitalism & free mkt. When asked what they replace it with, they had no clue except take all the millionaires money. Problem is that only gets you about 1 billion, what Obama spends in just 4 months.

Just on news: Obama has 45 CZARs and plans for 18 more Czars for his Obamacare and over 2800 new Regulations passed last year alone. Compare that to all less than 30 Russian Czars in the history of the world. So Obama has or plans to have more than double the number of Czars in less than 4 years than Russia has had throughout history. Each Czar and their staff cost US taxpayers an avg. of 1.4 million a year. Can you name one thing good that an Obama Czar has done for your taxpayer dollars?

The millionaire tax being pushed by Obama/Democrats this week would hit taxpayers in Democrat-dominated states twice as hard as those in Republican-dominated states. The Rich at Wall St. give 10 times more to Dem.'s than Rep.'s. States that have elected two Republican senators tend to have much lower levels of economic inequality than states which have elected two Democratic senators. Democrat-dominated states tend to have higher percentages of very rich people, higher percentages of very poor people, and a lower percentage of middle-income people.
Sex, Drugs & Poor Sanitation Occupy Wall Street
The situation down at Occupy Wall Street continues to deteriorate, as sanitary conditions teamed with the personal actions of the protesters appear to be eclipsing the political gathering’s original push for a more “equitable” society and wanting to replace capitalism with Socialism, Marxism & Communism. The people they are protesting is the same people who have the Dem.'s in power. They all should be in DC protesting Obama.

The environment down at NYC’s Fin. Dist. is “increasingly debauched.” What started out as a gathering of people frustrated over what they see as a lack of opportunity in America (their complaints focused upon corporate greed, the large gap between the poor and rich in America, & student loans), may be developing into something else entirely.
"Sex & drugs are infiltrating the protests big time. Among the banners and flags are now discarded packets of condoms, cigarettes, booze, meth bags, & drug needles, while naked youngsters happily get together with nothing covering their modesty. Boxes of free condoms is kept in the main area where protesters are camping. Free pizza provided by SEIU unions. Some interviewed said they came for the drugs, one said he had been stoned for 11 days. Hispanics interviewed in Spanish admitted to being payed to carry signs in English when they cannot even read the signs. Some of the same protestors are the same ones that where on TV in the Madison Wisc. capital protests. On Friday, alone, more than 400 people were at the makeshift city and sex was apparently a rampant occurrence.

Many have praised the protesters as young people who have little and who have fallen victim to a down economy, Andre, a 40-year-old activist, says, “Most of these kids are trust-fund Wall St.babies with I-pads. They don’t need to be here.” He continues, “I’ve seen some making out, having sex. It doesn’t look good.” Several where asked if they would take a job on Wall Street starting at 150k per year, and they said NO, we do not want to work.

This is the type of vermin that support Obama. And Obama and Pelosi support them yet call Tea Partiers extremists and racists. There is no comparison between Tea Party protests and the Wall Street protest. Tea Partiers did not have arrests. No one was selling drugs, caught having sex or urinating/crapping on the street.
