The network services major cities and suburban areas in the previously mentioned states. To find a state, simply type in the name of the state followed by the word addictionhelp.org/ (e.g., http://californiaaddictionhelp.org/). Telephone contact is also available if someone prefers to speak with a certified counselor over the phone. The website is easy to navigate, so people can spend their time productively as they become more knowledgeable. The purpose of the network is to expedite the process of getting the right information into the hands of people looking for addiction help and to empower them to make an effective decision about what program is right for them or their loved one with less confusion and delay. Each website contains a complete package of resources and informational materials that can be either downloaded or requested by submitting a form through the site.

    Downloadable files on the website include guides for families and their role in recovery, unraveling the complexities of co-occurring disorders, and how to approach relapse prevention. Other pages of helpful information include brief descriptions about detoxification programs, 30-day rehabilitation programs, and 90-day rehabilitation programs. As people work their way through the site, each page allows them to contact the site and request more information as needed. If someone is interested in finding out more about therapists in their area, a complete list of therapists as well as their area of expertise will be provided to an individual by filling out a form or contacting the number specified. Each website also contains a blog that is open to visitors of the site. They invite people to share their thoughts and answer any questions someone need help with.

    As long as someone has or can get Internet access, they can request specific information about the types of rehab programs available in thier area as well as descriptions of treatment. The Helping Hand Network has taken the anxiety out of this process by doing everything possible to eliminate the uncertainties and unknowns from what is often an overwhelming experience for many people.
