Man wounded in shooting at Victorville motel

A shooting at a Victorville motel on Friday afternoon left a man wounded, authorities said.

Shortly before 1:30 p.m., deputies responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon at Motel 6, located at 16868 Stoddard Wells Rd., sheriff's spokeswoman Gloria Huerta said.

"When they arrived, they found a male with a gunshot wound," she stated. "The victim was transported to the hospital and the investigation continues."

An update on the victim's condition was not available. No further details, including a suspect description or motive, were released.
