PetSmart names board director Gregory Josefowicz as its non-executive chairman

NEW YORK (AP) -- PetSmart Inc. on Tuesday said board director Gregory P. Josefowicz will take over as chairman following its annual shareholders meeting, slated for Friday in Boston.

The Phoenix-based pet retailer said Josefowicz, 60, has served as a director since 2004 and a lead director since 2006. He takes over for Chairman and CEO Bob Moran, who is not standing for re-election.

The company had previously announced that David Lenhardt, its chief operating officer and president, will take over as CEO at the time.

PetSmart's shares were down a penny at $68.18 in after-hours trading.
