    Jeffrey Deutsch and Christopher J. Kula elected to counsel

    Phillips Nizer is pleased to announce the election of Jeffrey Deutsch, Trusts & Estates and Tax, and Christopher J. Kula, Corporate & Business Law, to the position of counsel. Both are residents in the law firm’s New York City office.

    Mr. Deutsch practices in all aspects of estate planning, charitable and non-charitable gift planning and succession planning for a varied client base, including ultra-high net worth families and their businesses, as well as high net worth individuals. Having practiced in public accounting for several years, Mr. Deutsch brings experience as a Certified Public Accountant by advising clients on issues relating to asset protection and income and gift tax aspects of corporate and commercial transactions. Mr. Deutsch earned his J.D. magna cum laude from Brooklyn Law School in 2002, and Bachelor’s degree magna cum laude in 1995 from Brooklyn College. He joined Phillips Nizer’s Trusts & Estates and Tax Departments in 2006.

    Mr. Kula represents emerging and established private companies, public companies, private investment funds, entrepreneurs, and investors in various areas, including private and public offerings, securities and corporate law, business and fund formation, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, and technology law. Mr. Kula is experienced in complex transactions across many industries including Internet, media, technology, healthcare, biotechnology, finance, energy, and fashion, as well as in the context of sophisticated planning for family businesses and investments. Mr. Kula earned his J.D. from Hofstra University in 2002, and a Bachelor’s degree from Villanova University in 1997. He joined Phillips Nizer’s Corporate & Business Law Department in 2007.
