There are reasons to celebrate every day, big and small. We think of major holidays as celebrations, but there are also personal moments such as birthdays, engagements and promotions.

Here in the United States, we celebrate the anniversary of our country's independence on July 4th. Traditionally, we take the day off to spend time with family and friends. There's no one way to celebrate, but common staples include fireworks, parades, and grill-cooked fare such as hot dogs and hamburgers.

But it isn't just the 4th of July that's worthy of celebrating this time of year. Just recently, for example, our northern neighbors celebrated the birthday of their country with Canada Day on July 1. This past Saturday, we celebrated Social Media Day in communities across the globe. And throughout the spring, countless graduates celebrated their diplomas and degrees.

For this week's , we want you to show us how you celebrate. It could be a photo of a recent celebration, or a photo you took at a prior event that you'd like to share. And you don't have to send us any particular photo of a holiday. It could be an occasion that's special to you in particular. Send us a photo of showing something you've celebrated. We’ll pick some of the best photos and feature them in next week’s Photo Challenge roundup.

Submit your photo by Wednesday, July 11 at 12:00 p.m. EST. We will choose some of the top images based on composition, originality and overall appeal. These pictures will be featured on Mashable, as well as on our and .
