Yahoo! News is asking readers and voters to share brief anecdotes and photos from Election Day. Here are one voter's observations.
FIRST PERSON | BRIDGEWATER, N.J. -- From my home, the polling station -- Somerset County Park Commission in Milltown Road -- is about a 30-minute walk. Along the way, I saw number of yard signs clusters -- mostly for Board of Education and Township Council election. Around a corner, there was a lonely looking Romney-Ryan sign, but did not see any Obama-Biden posters.
At the polling station (I reached there around 10:20 a.m.) things looked smooth. Parking lot was almost full, but things were moving. A couple of people walked to the station.
What I have gathered on voter sentiment is that it is not so clear-cut. If you have been following the media narrative, you would be surprised how many people don't fit into that. A family friend, a first-time voter, is voting Romney because of insurance cost concerns.
I just hope that smooth operations at the polling station continues as people getting off from work start coming in, in the evening.
