This 1899 portrait by George Heyn, provided by The Library of Congress, shows Albert of Afraid of Hawk holding a tomahawk. More than a century after dying from food poisoning while touring New England with Buffalo Bill's Rough Riders, Afraid of Hawk's remains are returning from Danbury, Conn., to South Dakota where he will be buried with tribal members.
