Alan Thicke played Dr. Jason Seaver, a psychiatrist and stay-at-home dad who won over audiences during the show's run from 1985 to 1992. The Canadian actor had previously been a notable late night TV host. Thicke, 64, went on to star in other sitcoms, including NBC's "Hope & Gloria" in the mid-'90s and most recently the Canadian show, "jPod," but none reached the same success as "Growing Pains." less
