Amazon has debuted its new credit-card processing device and mobile app, Amazon Local Register, that lets small businesses process payments through smartphones, tablets and Kindles. Amazon is taking a swipe at the competition when it comes to pricing as well. Each customer's first $10 in transaction fees will be credited back to the customer, covering the cost of credit card reader itself. For customers who sign up for the service by October 31, Amazon will take a special rate 1.75% of each payment processed until January 1, 2016. After October 31, the service fee will be 2.5%. Both rates undercut prices of competitors like Square and PayPal Here. TheStreet's Brittany Umar has details from New York. less
