The Felix Houphouet-Boigny Peace Prize honours living individuals and active institutions that have made a significant contribution to promoting, seeking, safeguarding or maintaining peace. The Grandmothers of the Plaza de Mayo is a human rights organisation which tries to locate babies kidnapped during the Argentine dictatorship era known as the "Dirty War" (1976-1983).
