The French commercial space launch company Arianespace sent a pair of telecommunications satellites into orbit on its Ariane 5 ECA rocket on Thursday, February 6. The launch, from the Guinea Space Center in Kourou, French Guiana, was delayed for an hour because of inclement weather. Aboard the rocket were Space Systems/Loral’s ABS-2 satellite and Athena-Fidus, a French-Italian satellite. The launch was the company’s first in 2014. Credit: Arianespace less
