This artist rendering provided by the National September 11 Memorial & Museum shows the initial design for a welcome site at the 9/11 Memorial in New York. The concrete street-level plaza, with benches and light landscaping, will be on the southeast corner of the former Deutsch Bank building. The space is designed to keep crowds off of sidewalks and allows memorial staff to verify visitor passes, which will be required to enter the memorial at ground zero. less
