In this Aug. 2, 2013 photo, Venture capitalist Nick Hanauer poses for a photo by the window of his office in downtown Seattle. Washington state already has the nation’s highest state minimum wage at $9.19 an hour, and Hanauer endorses calls to raise it, because he feels putting money in the hands of regular consumers could reduce the drop in demand for goods that he says has hurst our economy.
