In this Aug. 5, 2013 photo, four red knots walk along the shoreline in Stone Harbor, N.J. The birds, which are considered endangered in New Jersey, rely on Delaware Bay beaches to gorge on horseshoe crab eggs to fuel them for the rest of their marathon annual journey from South America to the Arctic. A massive project to restore five Delaware Bay beaches damaged by Superstorm Sandy has been completed just ahead o the second summer following the storm.
