Bavarian ox-racing championships

Participants dressed in traditional Bavarian lederhosen compete in the 5th ox-racing championship (5. Muensinger Ochsenrennen) on August 26, 2012 in Muensing, Germany. The competition, which only takes place once every four years, is a race of jockeys riding bareback on oxen across a field and is complemented with a morning procession and 'ox-ball' (featuring roasted ox) in a festivities tent after the races.
