The Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday said the Election Commission's decision to ban Amit Shah from addressing rallies in Uttar Pradesh has saddened the party. Election Commission of India on Friday had banned Amit Shah from addressing any public rally after he made hate speeches during election campaigns. BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said that the party has requested the EC to repeal the ban and asserted that Shah's case cannot be equated with that of the leader of Samajwadi Party (SP), Azam Khan, who has also been banned by the EC under similar circumstances on Friday. less
