U.S. authorities will reportedly seek more than $5 billion from BNP Paribas to settle allegations that the French bank violated U.S. sanctions. That's according to a report by Bloomberg, which says discussions are ongoing and that the final amount of the settlement could change. Last week, reports said BNP was in talks to pay more than $3 billion. According to Bloomberg, U.S. prosecutors are seeking a guilty plea from the BNP, as they did in the case with Credit Suisse.
