Japanese brand Uniqlo is known for its lines of clean and colorful casual basics. Evolving from a menswear retailer that was founded in 1949, it became known as Uniqlo (short for Unique Clothing Warehouse) in 1984, when it also transitioned into being a unisex brand. Under the Fast Retailing group, the brand went international in 2002 starting with Shanghai and London and now counts over 850 stores around the world.
