Presdient Barack Obama spoke to the group, Organizing for Action, and said the role of these volunteers is critical in putting the new health care plan in place and advancing other second-term initiatives -- especially as the August recess approaches. Illinois became the latest state to implement a central part of President Barack Obama's health care law by expanding Medicaid to cover low-income adults who don't have children at home. Gov. Pat Quinn signed the state legislation into law, which will allow an estimated 342,000 Illinois residents to enroll by 2017. Dennis Farina, a onetime Chicago cop who as a popular actor played a cop on "Law & Order," has died.Farina died in a Scottsdale, Ariz., hospital after suffering a blood clot in his lung, according to his publicist, Lori De Waal.
