British Foreign Office Minister Hugo Swire delivers his speech at the British Council as he concludes his visit to Myanmar Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, in Yangon, Myanmar. Swire was in the country for discussions with opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi and senior Burmese government figures on democratic change and the situation in Rakhine State where conflicts between ethnic Rakhine Buddhists and Rohingya Muslims go on. This is his second visit to Myanmar in 13 months and he demonstrated Britain's commitment to improving human rights, supporting the ethnic peace process and lobbying for progress in the western Myanmar state.
