Charity shop paintings revived with a modern twist

For this artist one mans junk really is another mans treasure - as he transforms old paintings given away to charity shops into £500 ($800 US) masterpieces. Dave Pollot spends his time injecting life back into the unwanted paintings that he finds in charity shops and at garage sales, blending modern elements into discarded portraits and landscapes. He came up with the idea when he and his girlfriend, Becca, were joking about putting humorous objects into paintings, as they rummaged through the disused works at their local charity shop. One day, Becca returned home with a print, which she asked Dave to modify. He added a monster peaking over one of the buildings that featured, which they were then able to sell at a local show.
