Students at the school, which sits on 73 acres in the southwest corner of the city, raise hogs, chickens, cattle, sheep and two recently acquired Standardbred broodmares. In addition to the livestock the students raise vegetables, hay, wheat, and fruit. The school has a graduation rate nearly 40 percent higher than the city average and 83 percent of the school's graduates go on to college. (Photo by Scott Olson/Getty Images) less
