Chilean Sen. Isabel Allende, daughter of Chile's late President Salvador Allende, and Dr. Patricio Bustos, director of Chile's Medical Legal Service descend the stairs of the Medical Legal Institute in Santiago, Chile, Tuesday July 19, 2011. A scientific autopsy has confirmed that the former president committed suicide during the 1973 coup, Chilean court officials announced Tuesday. British ballistics expert David Prayer said Allende died of two shots fired from an assault rifle held between his legs and under his chin that was set to fire automatically. The bullets blew out the top of his head and killed him instantly. Isabel Allende said it's a huge relief to get the result from an international team of experts. (AP Photo/Aliosha Marquez) less
