The Republic of Korea Coast Guard has released new footage of the final moments of the Sewol ferry. More than 400 people were on the ferry, most of them high school students, when it got into difficulty close to the island of Jindo. The video shows the crew rescuing passengers from the sinking ferry. The South Korean Prime Minister on April 27 offered his resignation over the disaster. This video released by the Republic of Korea Coast Guard on April 28 shows the captain of the Sewol ferry leaving the ship as it sank. Captain Lee Jun-seok was criticised in the media and by families of the victims for abandoning the vessel. Credit: Republic of Korea Coast Guard less
