Coast Guard Petty Officer 3rd Class Paul Ramos, left, leaves a military courthouse with his father, Alfredo Ramos, center, and unidentified officer, right, after sentencing in a court-martial at Coast Guard headquarters in Alameda, Calif., Wednesday, March 23, 2011. Ramos was sentenced Wednesday to three months in the brig for his role in a boat collision in San Diego Bay that killed an 8-year-old boy. Ramos was the driver of the Coast Guard vessel. He was acquitted Tuesday of involuntary manslaughter. A jury found Ramos guilty of the lesser charge of dereliction of duty for failure to conduct a risk assessment. less
