Dark clouds loom over the Manhattan skyline on Monday, Oct. 29, 2012 in New York. The projected path of Hurricane Sandy put New York City and Long Island in the danger zone for a huge surge of seawater made more fearsome by high tides and a full moon. Hurricane Sandy continued on its path Monday, forcing the shutdown of mass transit, schools and financial markets, sending coastal residents fleeing, and threatening a dangerous mix of high winds and soaking rain.  (AP Photo/Peter Morgan) less
