Dean Dimond tags the ear of a newborn calf, Friday, March 4, 2011, near Jerome, Idaho. Dimond doesn't have to look far and wide to understand the impacts a massive animal feed lot could have on his own livelihood. It's right in front him when he gazes beyond his fence line. Dimond, who raises cattle, hay, grain and corn on 450 acres in the heart of Idaho dairy country, is one of a handful of residents battling a proposal to put in a confined animal feedlot big enough to handle 13,000 cows adjacent to his property. less
