Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has hailed NSA leaker Edward Snowden's "courage" and offered to consider an asylum application. Maduro, speaking in Haiti, said someone should "protect" Snowden, who is believed to be in a transit zone at Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport. WikiLeaks says that former National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden is "safe and well." However, this brief statement that gave no indication of how the information was obtained and did little to clear up the mystery concerning his whereabouts. Ecuadorean Foreign Minister Ricardo Patino said that Ecuador could take months to decide whether to grant National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden asylum, and the country's relations with the U.S. would be one of the factors considered. less
