U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said Monday that it would be "deeply troubling" if Russia or Hong Kong had adequate notice about Edward Snowden's plans to flee to a country that will grant him asylum and still allowed him leave. The Ecuador Foreign Ministry said that NSA leaker Edward Snowden has asked for political asylum in Ecuador after fleeing Hong Kong for Russia Edward Snowden, the whistleblower who exposed the NSA's PRISM surveillance program and a number of similar government initiatives over the course of?the last few weeks, has left Hong Kong and is currently in transit in Moscow. less
