Lon Snowden, father of Edward Snowden, says his son did the right thing by leaking U.S. intelligence and helping the American people see the truth. "I think my son, when he takes his final breath, whether it's today or 100 years from now, (will) be comfortable with what he did," Lon Snowden said. The State Department said The United States would be deeply disappointed if Russia were to allow fugitive former U.S. spy agency contractor Edward Snowden to leave Moscow's Sheremetyevo Airport. Snowden, who is wanted by the United States for revealing details of U.S. government intelligence, arrived in Russia on June 23 from Hong Kong, where he had fled to escape capture and trial in the United States on espionage charges. NSA leaker Edward Snowden's lawyer said that Snowden will remain in the transit area of a Moscow airport reading Russian literature while authorities consider his request for temporary asylum. less
