The Egyptian police will block access to a Muslim Brotherhood protest camp in Cairo, adding that the Interior Ministry was against the idea of breaking up the sit-in by force. Authorities offered "safe passage and protection" for thousands of supporters of ousted President Mohammed Morsi if they end two large sit-ins in Cairo. An influential ultraconservative Egyptian cleric has warned that using violence to break up sit-in protests by supporters of the ousted president will lead to more bloodshed. less
